Biography:

Erma June Johnson died peacefully at home surrounded by her family and friends on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at the age of 89.
June (Erma) was preceded in death by her husband Harold and brothers David and Milton (Susan). She is survived by her children Karl, Eric (Mary), Kurt (Darla) and Ellen (Farris), grandchildren; Zachary, Lucas, Gabriel (Miranda), Jacob, Hannah, Ava, and Gia, great-granddaughter McKenna, sisters-in-law Margaret Bower and Edna Wilson, and many nieces and nephews.
June was born in Akron, Ohio to Russell and Erma Bower. After graduation from Coventry High School she attended Ashland College and graduated from Akron City Hospital School of Nursing.  Shortly after graduation she moved to Jackson, Michigan where she worked nights at Mercy Hospital. After two years, she was asked to move to Cuyahoga Falls to take charge of the Osteopathic Hospital Operating Room. While there, she was married to Harold Johnson. They moved to Nevada for a short time, then to Rhode Island where she took a 12 month long anesthesia course. She was responsible for setting up anesthesia departments in several small hospitals in the Jackson area, including Addison, Morenci, and Hudson. Eventually she worked at Doctors Hospital where she retired at age 70.
She belonged to the Vasa Lodge (Swedish) and the Order of Eastern Star. June enjoyed reading, sewing, ceramics, spending time with her family, swimming, and traveling. 

A memorial service will be held at Loomis Park Baptist Church on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 12:00 noon with visitation from 11:00 am until the time of service.  Internment will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery on August 24, 2018.  Full military honors for both Harold & June will be provided by the American Legion Riders - Captain Oscar Brady Post 298.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to https://www.youthhaven.org/donate
